Why are my projects not showing in the Today's Projects Widget?

Learn why projects may not appear in the Today's Projects Widget and what conditions must be met for them to display correctly.

If your projects are not appearing in the Today's Projects Widget, the most common reason is that timesheets are not actively running for those projects. The Today's Projects Widget pulls from active timesheet data, so if timesheets have not been started or are not currently running for a project, it will not appear in the widget. To resolve this, ensure that timesheets are running for the projects you expect to see, and they should populate in the widget shortly after.

Information

Having a project scheduled for today does not automatically make it appear in the Today's Projects Widget. A common point of confusion is assuming that any project on the schedule will show up, but the widget is driven by active timesheets, not the schedule.

Even if a project is assigned to today's date, it will only appear in the widget once a timesheet has been started for it.

If you're expecting to see a scheduled project in the widget but it isn't showing, first check that a timesheet has been initiated for that project.

Also, if you don't have the View All Projects permission, only projects you're directly assigned to will appear in the widget. To see a project, make sure you've been added to it and that an active timesheet is running.

  1. On the left-hand menu click Projects.

  2. Find a project with an open timesheet scheduled for today, then click the project.

  3. Once in the project click the Daily Timesheet to confirm it has started.

  4. Observe the STOP button above which shows the timesheet is running and also how all the employees are highlighted green to show the timesheet is currently running as well.

  5. Click Dashboard.

  6. Observe that the project we just viewed appears in Today's Active Projects.
