How Do I Reset A PIN

This article will cover everything you need to know about resetting a PIN for an employee.

It is easy to reset an employee's PIN and this article will explain exactly how to do it!

Requirements

NOTE: In order to change Employee PIN(s), you must be an Admin or Guru at your company and have access to the Employee module on the left hand side of your screen in the main menu.

Information

You might be wondering, "What is a PIN?" A PIN is an employees Personal Identification Number. This number is what an employee will use as their Legal Signature when verifying:

  • Daily Timesheets

  • PSI / JHA / SPA

  • Inspection Forms

  • etc.

You may be wondering, "Who needs a PIN?" All employees need a PIN.

Or maybe you are asking, "How do I know what the PIN should be?" FieldFlo recommends that you use the last 4 digits for an employees Social Security. The reason(s) we recommend this are:

  • It is easier for Admins to set these up because they probably have access to this already

  • It is easier for an employee to remember

  • It is a legally bound number to the employee

  • It is less likely that an employee will be willing to share this confidential number with their fellow employees

Here are the steps to resetting a PIN:

  1. Click on the Employees module (located on the left hand side of your screen in the main menu).

  2. Now that you are on the Employees module page, click inside the Employee Quick Search field. Type in the name of the employee you are needing to change the password for and hit Enter on your keyboard.

  3. On the right hand side of the employee that you are needing to change the password for, are three little dots. Click three little dots and then click Reset PIN.

  4. A popup will appear that will allow you to set a PIN number. Enter the PIN and click Save.

  5. Another popup will appear saying "PIN Number updated successfully".
